StyleSync ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that recommends clothing colors and outfits based on a photo of the user, and helps the user find matching products while shopping online. This page explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

What data StyleSync accesses

• Photo of the user — a photo taken via the device camera or uploaded by the user, used to generate a personalized color palette and for the optional virtual try-on feature.
• Page content of the active tab — when the user opens StyleSync, the content script reads visible product information (images, names, prices) on the page the user is browsing, in order to find items that match the user's color palette.

How this data is used

• The user's photo is sent to third-party AI APIs (Groq and Replicate) solely to generate a color palette and to produce a virtual try-on preview image. These providers process the image to return a result to the extension and are not used by StyleSync for any other purpose.
• Page content is analyzed locally in the browser to compare products against the user's color palette and highlight matches. Page content is not sent to any server operated by StyleSync.

What is stored, and where

• The captured/uploaded photo, generated color palette, outfit combinations, matched products, and theme preference are stored using chrome.storage.local — i.e., locally on the user's own device.
• StyleSync does not use any remote database, account system, or analytics/tracking service. No data is synced to a server controlled by the developer.
• The user can clear all stored data at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage via Chrome's extension settings.

Third-party services

StyleSync sends images to the following third-party APIs to provide its core features:

• Groq — used to analyze the user's photo and detect product information on shopping pages.
• Replicate — used to generate virtual try-on preview images.

Use of these services is subject to their respective privacy policies. StyleSync does not sell, rent, or share user data with any other third party.

Data retention

Data is retained only on the user's device for as long as the extension is installed, or until the user clears it. StyleSync's developer does not retain copies of user photos or page content.

Children's privacy

StyleSync is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
